KEYPROV Status Update (July 2007)

Dynamic Symmetric Key Provisioning Protocol (DSKPP)

We created an issue tracker to tackle the open issues in a more organized style: http://www.tschofenig.com:8080/keyprov

Currently, the issue tracker contains 25 open issues.

The draft changes focused on the first few sections in the document. A detailed list of changes between -00 and -01 will be sent to the list.

The plan is to solicit feedback from the working group around IETF#69 to turn the document into a WG item. The planned WGLC for the document was re-scheduled for IETF#70.

Portable Symmetric Key Container

A new version has been submitted and it is available here: http://www.tschofenig.com/svn/keyprov/PSKC/draft-hoyer-keyprov-portable-symmetric-key-container-02.txt

A detailed list of changes will be sent to the list.

The working group also needs to be asked around IETF#69 whether they feel comfortable with accepting this document as a WG item.

Info regarding IEEE P1619.3

Robert Griffin provided info to the group about the current work of the IEEE P1619.3 group. His mail to the list can be found here: http://www1.ietf.org/mail-archive/web/keyprov/current/msg00037.html

The scope of P1619.3 already indicates the relationship to the work in KEYPROV: This standard specifies an architecture for the key management infrastructure for cryptographic protection of stored data, describing interfaces, methods and algorithms.

KEYPROV Status Update (June 2007)

Merged Keyprov draft

Andrea and Ming will produce a first version of the merged draft by June 11.

The plan is to

• Include use cases from the DSKPP I-D
• Piece together outline and content from RFC 4758 and existing Keyprov protocol I-Ds
• Rely on and describe XML schema and messages put together by Ming and Andrea
• At this time, not include the SOAP binding inside the draft as per recommendations at Prague meeting.
